NYT Columnist: Obama Has a “Manhood” Problem in Foreign Policy

It’s becoming very obvious that Obama is showing nothing but weakness on the world stage.
Vladimir Putin has “slapped” Obama around, “outperformed” him on the world stage, and made him and America look weak and unable to respond to international crises.
We’ve known this for a long time, but it looks like those at the New York Times (gasp!) are starting to realize that Obama isn’t exactly exuding manliness in his foreign policy.  Columnist David Brooks made note of this in a recent interview on Meet the Press.
Via BizPac Review:
President Obama’s “manhood” was questioned by an NBC “Meet the Press” roundtable panel on Sunday for his handling of foreign crises, including Syria and Ukraine.
During the previous segment, Senate Foreign Relations Committee memberBob Corker criticized Obama’s communications with foreign leaders.
“I think the administration is basically saying to Russia, ‘Look, don’t do anything overt. Don’t come across the border with 40,000 troops. Don’t embarrass us in that way. But you can continue to undermine the sovereignty of Ukraine by doing the things that you’ve done,’” the Republican senator said.
Corker said he has urged administration do something before it was too late, as it turned out to be in the Syrian crisis.
“Again, the world is watching. Our allies in Europe are watching. Our NATO friends and others know that this is where we are,” he said. “And I think we need to step on out and do the things that we’ve threatened because I don’t think Putin will respond to anything else, other than us overtly doing the things that we’ve laid out.”
New York Times columnist David Brookes took it a step further.
“And, let’s face it, Obama, whether deservedly or not, does have a – I’ll say it crudely – but a manhood problem in the Middle East,” he said.” Is he tough enough to stand up to somebody like Assad, somebody like Putin? I think a lot of the rap is unfair. But certainly in the Middle East, there’s an assumption he’s not tough.”
Boom.  Of course, Brooks is exactly right.  During the Syria crisis, Obama made nothing but empty threats about “red lines” being crossed that would warrant intervention.  He’s done the same thing with Putin, warning that “there will be consequences” over the Ukraine invasion, but we’ve seen nothing but meaningless sanctions that have made us a laughingstock among Russian government officials.  I remember when foreign thugs and tyrants respected US power and took our response to their actions seriously… do you?
